So glad May is almost over and June is just a few days away....this has been one of the most stressful budgeting months in a long time...just the idea of a new month - did I smell something fresh?
June is the month - finally - we are getting the cats fixed, and can kiss those aggravating, interrupting in-heat howls goodbye (and good riddance!)
Might have more (or another post) later, but wanted to get that down before they shut me down for lack of activity (can they do that?)...

Waiting on my relief
It is 5 till 7 and I'm waiting on my relief. She is so reliable I don't have anything to worry about, yet, there's always the chance that the phone will ring and it will reveal she is running late....
I'm very tired, but an upbeat mood, because I helped the new breakfast lady in her first "bind". She overslept and I helped her get the coffee and omelette/biscuits started. It felt real good to be a good neighbor to someone else with no ulterior(?) motive other than to be a friend to a co-worker on one of her first days on her own. Looking forward to being able to do that again real soon....I can sure use the "up" feelings to counterract the "tireds" that seem to want to dog me lately. I know I've got to pay bills later today but don't really want to....you see we don't really have enough to pay them all - I've typed up this cheesy little excuse letter to go with the ones I have to send a partial payment...It's so cheesy I'm not going to elaborate here....the only way you'll get to read it is if I owe you money (ha!)

Daddy Rab
I found out what a Daddy Rab was the other day. I didn't even know that I didn't know what it was. Quite frankly I never had heard of a Daddy Rab.
An ATT employee named Jerry, staying at the hotel during the crippling ice storm, educated me on the meaning of Daddy Rab. We were out front smoking and he asked, "Is my room like the Daddy Rab of your hotel?"
"Excuse me?", I asked
"You know, the top dog, best room"
"Yes, the suites are the best rooms in the hotel....now tell me how you get Daddy Rab."
"It's short for Daddy Rabbit, the best one."
"Oh, that explains everything."
So you may feel free to use "Daddy Rab" as an adjective to mean "best of the best", but you owe Jerry a quarter each time you use it.

hope springs eternal
2009! Here I am at work....standing....feet are tired and so am I, and it's just a little after 1am. A couple guests just knocked a juice on the floor of the suite shop and it exploded on the floor which I just mopped up a few minutes ago.....excitement!
I really want to make a habit (or get into the habit) of writing. Not just on this silly blog but something substantial. It would really be great to actually have writing increase income.
I've been toying around with the idea of getting a cheap laptop so I could write other places, and especially here at work, sitting down! Heard rumors there are some 2nd hand at pawn shops; may have to get one little at a time on layaway.
Overall my hopes are pretty high for 2009. On the personal development side, have set some goals and feel relatively good about achieving them. Hope you have a good year as well, and will be determined to have more posts to come.....soon!

what's up - time warp
What's up? Glad to be back. Stepped into a time warp, sorry. My intentions of using home computer to blog...well let's just say went poof! As schedules go, my time with the computer is very limited......gots to have my naps! Lately, my time on the computer has been little 15 minute bursts where I go in and check email and maybe poke around blog reader or check balance online but hardly ever have I "made" time to sit down and blog. 2009 is a new year and all hopes are that a new habit of daily blogging will emerge.....The beaver above is the first scan of the new all-in-one we got ourselves for Christmas. We got it one day exactly before we got the rest of our shopping done to be sure that at least we could afford it before "Christmas shopping fever" set it. So far we've done pretty good this year and haven't overspent.
Jane the breakfast lady threw my schedule off this morning. She had been coming in around 4am to do breakfast but the last few days it's been around 3:30a. On slow nights I can gauge my energy level on "making it to the half-way point" and then winding down after Jane comes....she's been here long enough where it should be later and it's making me tired thinking about over 2 hours to go to get to 7am. Oh well I'll probably make it...
--- as a practice new year's resolution, I will tell you that I will make every effort to get something down later that I can post tonight/tomorrow to keep up the "momentamum"---if not I hope it's a good excuse and not something lame like "cats knocked down the Christmas tree" (which they did last week!) or plumber came and woke me up and messed up my sleep schedule (2 weeks ago!)
Hope springs eternal - till next time!

Eerie!
I find it very strange that this job incorporates some of my interests growing up & even some of my previous jobs. For example:
* Most days I deliver newspapers to in-house guests. I had paper routes for MANY years, starting before high school.
* I always loved stickers....I had them all over the door to my room and all over my notebooks in school. Most nights I use 2 different stickers: one kind to seal up the envelopes for due-out guests, the other to seal up the On the Go bags for those "super-busy" guests that don't have time to scarf down a free breakfast.
* I loved Star-Trek (not so much anymore), and especially those "swoosh" doors that opened up right before you ran into them. Lo and Behold! Guess what kind of doors we have here! (no swoosh, rats!)
* One of my previous jobs was stocking vending machines with all kinds of high-calorie goodies: soft drinks, candy bars...well we have a Suite Shop that brings back all those memories...
I'm sure I'll think of some more "eerie" similarities and pass them along, but for now I'm standing posting this and I need to sit down so I'll sign off for now -
Note: from now on I am not allowing comments due to links to virus - loyal fans can send email directly to me
